    SCENE CONTEXT
A West Village café, an overcast afternoon in October. Four women at their
usual table. @sasha has not heard from a man in three days and brings it to
the table. Three answers come back. @nora answers too fast, and her own phone
lights up face-down at the end of it.

    LOCATION MAP
@cafe. Camera sits at the open fourth side of the table, in the aisle.
Back wall behind the table: the dark green banquette — @nora on it screen
left, @vee on it screen right, both facing camera. Two bentwood chairs on
the near side, backs three-quarters to camera: @sasha in front of @nora
(screen left), @dani in front of @vee (screen right). The window is the
entire wall camera-left: the bright neutral band of daylight falls across
@nora and @sasha; @vee and @dani sit in cooler open shade. Door far
background right. Four other patrons exist at distant tables, out of focus,
    never addressed.

    FIRST FRAME / BLOCKING
9:16. Wide two-shot of the table from the aisle, all four women in frame,
@nora on the third. @sasha is already mid-sentence, leaning forward, both
forearms on the marble. Her phone lies face-UP flat on the table by her
right hand, screen dark. @nora's phone lies face-DOWN beside her cup,
half under a folded paper napkin. Four coffees, one already finished.

    FORMAT MODE
Seven cuts, one continuous conversation. The scene opens on a face in motion,
mid-sentence — no establishing shot. The only wide is 1.5 s long and comes
after the hook, not before it. Camera never crosses to the far side of the
    table.

    CUT 1 — CLOSE on @sasha, 75mm, three-quarter from the aisle, locked,
    0:00–0:03:
We are already inside the sentence. At 0:00.3 she says "Three days. Nothing."
Her right hand is already moving as she speaks: she turns her phone face-UP
against the marble and pushes it into the middle of the table — the phone
slides flat, never lifts, never rotates on any other axis, screen dark and
never legible. At 0:02 her fingers leave it and she sits back.

    CUT 2 — WIDE two-shot, 35mm, locked, 0:03–0:04.5:
One and a half seconds only. All four women, @nora on the third. @vee lowers
her spoon into the saucer. @nora is looking at the window, half elsewhere —
the only one not looking at the phone in the middle of the table.

    CUT 3 — MEDIUM single on @vee, 50mm, front-on over @sasha's shoulder,
    locked, 0:04.5–0:09:
@vee does not raise her eyes for the line. At 0:05 she says "He's with
someone." Then she looks up. Hold 1.5 s on her stillness — she does not
    soften.

    CUT 4 — CLOSE on @sasha, 75mm, locked, 0:09–0:13:
The line lands in her eyes before her face moves — half a second of nothing,
then a small swallow. At 0:10.5 she says "You don't know that."

CUT 5 — MEDIUM single on @dani, 50mm, three-quarter from the aisle, locked,
    0:13–0:18:
@dani reaches across, lays two fingers flat on @sasha's phone and pivots it
face-down against the marble in one slow motion — flat on the surface, never
lifted. At 0:15 she says "Then stop looking at it."

    CUT 6 — MEDIUM single on @nora, 50mm, front-on over @sasha's shoulder, very
    slow push in, 0:18–0:25:
@nora answers without being asked, and a beat too fast. At 0:19: "He's not
with someone. He just doesn't know what to say yet." A pause. At 0:23, off
screen, @vee says "That's very specific." @nora's jaw sets.

    CUT 7 — CLOSE on @nora, 85mm, locked, 0:25–0:30:
At 0:26 a soft light blooms under the edge of her face-down phone and against
the napkin — the screen itself never visible. The other three flick their eyes
toward it; @nora does not. She puts one finger on the back of the phone and
slides it further under the napkin. Hold on her face for the last 2 s. Cut.

    OPTICS
35mm on the wide, 50mm on the singles, 75–85mm on the closes. Shallow but
not blurred — the table surface stays readable, the far patrons fall off.

    CAMERA
Locked on a tripod for every cut except CUT 5, which is a push-in of no
more than 15 cm over 7 s. No handheld, no whip, no rack focus.

    ACTION
Unhurried. Objects move only when a hand moves them: the spoon, the phone,
the napkin. Nobody gestures while speaking. Nobody picks up a cup on a line.

    PERFORMANCE
Play at the intensity of people who do not know they are filmed.
    @sasha: hopeful → hit → defensive → small.
@vee: flat certainty → sets the spoon down → does not soften.
@dani: watching → practical intervention → back to watching.
    @nora: elsewhere → alert on "He's with someone" → too-quick defence →
caught by @vee's line → closed.
Everyone reacts before they speak: half a second to a second in the eyes
first. Smiles, if any, are small and closed-mouth.

    PHYSICS
Coffee surfaces ripple when the table is touched. The napkin creases where
the phone slides under it. Hair and knitwear move naturally with the body.

    LIGHTING
Key is the window camera-left: soft overcast north daylight, ~5600K, large
and directional, falling across @nora and @sasha. @vee and @dani sit in
cooler open shade, ~6500K, no practical on them. One warm 2700K tungsten
pendant far background above the counter, well out of focus — the only warm
element in the frame. Low contrast, lifted blacks, clean shadow detail, no
    rim light, no sun flare.

    AUDIO
Voice casting, consistent across the series:
@nora — low, warm, unhurried, slight rasp, quiet volume, neutral American.
@vee — dry, flat, precise, pitched lower than expected, sentences always fall
at the end, faint Mediterranean accent.
@sasha — brighter and higher, the fastest speaker, rising inflection at the
end of lines, a touch of breath when hurt.
@dani — even, measured, quiet, the clearest diction of the four, pitch never
      rises.

No two of them share pitch or speaking speed. No whispering, no breathy
    performance, no announcer delivery.

Room tone of a small café: distant cups, a grinder once at 0:12, low
unintelligible conversation, no music. Spoon against porcelain in CUT 2.
A single soft haptic buzz at 0:27, very short. Dialogue exactly as quoted.

    STYLE
Contemporary streaming-drama grade: muted cool environment with blue-grey
shadows and clean white highlights, but skin stays warm, luminous and
saturated — the faces are the only fully coloured thing in frame. Low
contrast, lifted blacks, soft highlight roll-off. Environment desaturated —
greens pulled away from yellow toward cool. Shot on a digital cinema camera
with a 1/8 Black Pro-Mist filter: gentle bloom around highlights, no visible
    grain. Kodak 2383 print emulation.
Avoid: sepia, amber wash, golden-hour tint, yellow cast on skin or walls,
teal-and-orange grade, heavy film grain, crushed blacks, HDR look.

    POSITIVE LOCKS
    - @nora, @vee, @sasha and @dani 100% match their reference sheets — face,
hair, wardrobe. Sheet backgrounds and layouts NOT inherited.
    - @nora wears exactly one ring: the plain gold band on her left ring finger.
      No other rings.
    - Seating never changes: @nora banquette screen left, @vee banquette screen
right, @sasha chair screen left, @dani chair screen right.
    - The camera stays on the aisle side of the table in every cut.
    - No phone screen is ever visible or legible. @nora's phone stays face-down
for the whole scene; the buzz at 0:27 is light on the napkin only.
    - No legible text anywhere: no signage, no menus, no labels, no subtitles.
    - Only these four women are at this table. Other patrons stay distant, out of
      focus, and never look over.
    - No exaggerated smiles, no lip biting, no crying, no theatrical eyebrows, no
instant emotion switches, no prolonged stares.
